Stefan Weinberger
Cinematographer & Filmmaker
Stefan Weinberger is a cinematographer born and raised in New York City. He holds a B.A. in Art History from Wesleyan University and an MFA in Cinematography from the American Film Institute. His latest narrative feature, UNION COUNTY, written and directed by Adam Meeks and starring Will Poulter and Noah Centineo, is set to premiere in the US Dramatic Competition at Sundance in 2026. His earlier narrative work has played at Cannes, Berlinale, Tribeca Film Festival, and the Maryland Film Festival, among others. His latest documentary feature is SOAPS, directed by Emmy award winner Matt Wolf, set to premiere in 2027. His episodic documentary work includes series for Netflix, Apple TV, ESPN, YouTube Originals, Nowness, and more, working with Oscar-winning directors such as Garrett Bradley, Questlove, and Asif Kapadia. Stefan’s goal as a filmmaker is to use the moving image to create empathy and awareness, and to foster an environment of respect, equity, and verdant creativity within his collaborations.
